Sluggush and unprofessional work culture at SBI – Consumer forum complaint
State Bank of India, Anandapuri Branch probably has one of the most sluggish and unprofessional work culture in the history of any Indian company. A common Demand Draft which usually takes 5 minutes at the most to be drawn took me 4 1/2 hours there. Below is the consumer forum complaint against them. If you have faced similar problems, I request you to lodge complaints against them as well.
Sluggish work culture and rude behaviour at the Anandapuri, West Bengal branch of State Bank of IndiaRespected Sir/Madam,This is to bring to your attention the sluggish, unprofessional and rude behaviour of employees of State Bank of India, Anandapuri Branch towards its customers. I visited the bank on the 5th of October 2009 to make a Demand Draft of INR 660. The whole process took me 4 1/2 hours. First of all, half of the cash counters were closed. The only two that were open had mile long queues infront of them. Added to that the staff behind the counters left their desks at regular intervals of a few minutes for “refreshments”. Thus after standing in the queue for an hour, I was able to make the deposit and get a receipt. But the agony didn’t end there. The slip that was to be passed, well didn’t quite leave the desk, the reason being that the person in charge of the job was busy serving tea to the other employees. Finally after about half an hour when the slip did pass, it got stuck in the printing section for another hour and a half. That done, when the printed drafts did arrive at the Accountant’s desk to be signed and given out, he was not there. I suppose “refreshment” is as important as oxygen in SBI banks. After keeping a whole lot of people waiting, the person in charge did arrive and the first thing he did was too “shoo” off whoever was near his desk. Reason? He had to sign and tear the drafts. So after 4 1/2 hours I did get my draft, thanks to the sluggish and unprofessional work culture at SBI, Anandapuri.
